Under-11 and older teams are formed through tryouts.  Tryouts may use  2V2, 4V4 and other small sided games.  They may also include additional assessments based on age level requirements.  An assessment by the summer coach of each player is also factored into the selection process.  The tryouts and team selection are described in the Age Level Directors (ALD) Handbook (click here for link).

      Each parent is asked to evaluate their coaches - if you not supplied with a separate evaluation form by your Age Level Director

BY MYSA RULES - TRYOUTS can not start before August 2,  2008.

BY HIGH SCHOOL RULES - Tryouts must not be held during the HS season (Labor Day - Nov)

ALD Information to consider when scheduling tryouts : 

  1. Sunset - Review the sunset table - it gets dark early in the Fall - Sunset Table 
  2. Check the White Bear School District Calendar - Things to look for : MEA Week, Homecoming, Open Houses for your Age Group.  The Calendar can be found here : http://www.whitebear.k12.mn.us/schools/calendar.html
  3. Review the Age Level Director Handbook (click here for link) for the most current set of rules and guidelines.
  4. Sample Forms (Coaches evaluation, player evaluation, waiver, invitation, etc)  can be found on the "Organization" page - click here
  5. Choose an evaluation team - contact the WBSC Tryout Coordinator to arrange for an evaluation team - Mindy Daugherty 651-206-2745 Email: mmdaugherty08@yahoo.com .

List of possible Evaluators
  6. Arrange for payment of the evaluation team.  You MUST use the Coach/Trainer/Evaluator Payment Form to request payment.  This is required for IRS Tax reporting purposes. 
  7. Pre-Registration - tryout participants can be requested to pre-register but all tryouts must be open to players who appear at the tryout location without pre-registration
  8. All checks should be made out to WBSC.  Any money remaining from tryouts should be sent to the Treasurer with an accounting that includes the following :
  1. Number of players
  2. Tryout Fee
  3. Tryout Expenses : evaluator cost, copy expenses, mailing expenses, etc
     

 The default location for Summer 2009 is Loricus but location may vary, so please check your age group.   Parents are encouraged to assist.   Please ask your age level director if volunteers are needed. 

This page will be updated as information is received about the tryouts for each age group.  If you do not see your age group listed, please contact your age level director.

The Age Groups (BOYS , GIRLS) are listed for Summer 2009;  so if your player was a U11 in summer of 2008, the instructions and contacts for U12 should be used.
