Micro Soccer

Under-5 and Under-6 players and coaches are introduced to soccer through our Micro Soccer program. Micro Soccer (3-v-3, no keeper) features an eight game schedule during June and July on small fields to enhance skill development.  Girls and boys have separate leagues. Games are played on weeknights. Teams typically play one game per week against other WBSC teams, and practice once or twice per week.

Under-7/Under-8

Under-7 teams play 4-v-4 (no keeper) while Under-8 teams play 5-v-5 (plus keeper). Both play a nine-game in-house schedule. Games are played on weeknights. Game nights do not conflict with Community Services recreational t-ball and baseball.

Under-9/Under-10

Under-9 and Under-10 teams play 6v6 games. They typically play a 10-game schedule against neighboring communities in MYSA's East District in Maroon or Gold divisions. Teams typically enter three or four weekend tournaments (the club provides a portion of the tourney fees), and the MYSA's Soccer Jamboree in late July.

Under-11 and Older

Under-11 and older teams are competitive and play in Premier, Classic 1, Classic 2, or Classic 3 leagues. These teams are formed through tryouts. They play one or two games and practice two or three times per week. Depending on the level of play, game nights may conflict with Community Services recreational baseball and softball game nights. Competitive teams typically play in several tournaments. The USA Cup in July is a favorite. State tournaments are held in late July.

Fall Soccer

Starting in 2001, the fall Micro Soccer Programs for kindergartners and first graders will be organized by the Community Services and Recreation Department.  WBSC will continue to provide MYSA traveling teams for Under-9 through Under-14 age levels. Fall games are played on weekends. The Community Services and Recreation Department fall program offers recreational in-house leagues for second through eighth grades.

For those high school students who are unable to participate in the high school program, a 7 V 7 co-ed league plays on Saturday mornings, September - October.
