MN Thunder 3M Coaches

Each year, the White Bear Soccer Club is offered a chance by the Minnesota Thunder and 3M to nominate a male and female coach for a "Coach of the Year" award.  The coaches are honored at the WBSC Night at the Thunder.

Sportsmanship Awards Winners

State Cup Fair Play Winners

Two White Bear Soccer Club teams were awarded the Fair Play award at the 2007 MN State Cup Tournament in May/June.

Congratulations to all participants!

FIFA's Fair Play Campaign involves much more than simply promoting fair play on the pitch during a competition.  In addition to it numerous activities designed to improve the sporting environment for everyone concerned in soccer, FIFA is committed to encouraging fair play in society too, leading by example and show fairness, impartiality and solidarity among all of its players.  The most hotly debated topics of our times, such as equality, peace, children's rights, health, education, and the environment, do not escape the attention of FIFA.  The Minnesota Youth Soccer Association hope you too take these lessons as your social duty, striving to make a better world as you grow in both the game of soccer and life.

Evaluations of coaches, players and fans are part of the selection process for this award.  Evaluators score the team on these items :

For PLAYERS - Observes the Laws of the Game;  Demonstrates enthusiasm for the game;  Demonstrates respect for teammates, officials, and opponents; Participates in a sportsmanlike manner;

For COACHES:  Encourages their players, not berates them;  Demonstrates respect for officials, players, and opponents;  Observes the Laws of the Game;  Sets a good example of sportsmanship for players and sidelines; 

For FANS:  Encourages their players, not berates them;  Demonstrates respect for officials, players, and opponents.
